Xavier Espinal

Xavier Espinal is a Senior Applied Physicist currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer for CERN IT, where they oversee the evolution and coordination of computing infrastructure. Previously, they held various roles at CERN, including IT Computing Resources Manager and Service Manager, contributing significantly to the LHC Experiments Scientific Committee and the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment. Xavier began their academic career as an assistant teacher at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and earned a Ph.D. in Particle Physics from the same institution. They have also led production services at Port d'Informació Científica and participated in multiple international scientific committees.
