Xavier Vilasis has extensive experience in academia and research, serving at La Salle Campus Barcelona since 1996 in various capacities, including Member of the 'Consell Rector' of Associació Catalana d'Intel·ligència Artificial, Smart Society Research Group Principal Investigator, and Director of the Master's program in Data Science. As a Full Professor, Xavier conducts teaching and leads research at multiple levels. In addition, Xavier leads the Data Science for the Digital Society research group and has held the position of Vice-Dean of the Doctoral School. Since 2000, Xavier has been involved with CERN as a member of the LHCb Collaboration, participating in the design and implementation of the calorimeter system and serving as Deputy Project Leader for the Calorimeter. Prior roles include Research Coordinator at La Salle-Universitat Ramon Llull and Analyst at Aplicaciones en Informática Avanzada. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Physics from Universitat de Barcelona and a General Management Program from IESE Business School.
