Senior FX Artist at Certain Affinity

Clifton Stokes has a diverse work experience in the field of visual effects and motion graphics. Clifton started their career as a 3D Animator, Modeler, and Compositor at Monstertails in 2012, where they created CGI scenes by modeling characters and environments, rigging and animating models, and adding dynamics to live action footage.

In 2014, Clifton joined Invodo as a Creative VFX and Motion Graphics Artist, specializing in business advertisement and analytics. Clifton'sresponsibilities included animation, rotoscoping, image manipulation, composting, and tracking for various videos.

Moving on, Clifton worked as a Motion Graphics Artist at Rooster Teeth in 2015, where they contributed their skills in designing and creating motion graphics. Later that year, they joined Stoopid Buddy Stoodios as a VFX Compositor, focusing on producing effects like fire, smoke, and liquid, as well as performing mouth replacements on characters.

In 2015, Clifton also returned to Rooster Teeth but as a Compositor, VFX Artist, and FX Artist for Video and Games. Here, they created and composited 2D and 3D effects for projects like Rwby, Genlock, and Vicious Circle, utilizing software such as Houdini, Maya, Unreal, and After Effects.

The following year, they joined Flight 33 Productions as a Compositor, where they expertly matched set extensions, dynamic effects, and models to live action plates for shows on the History Channel. Afterwards, they worked at Bazelevs Group as a VFX Artist.

In 2017, Clifton joined Secret Weapon Visual Effects as a VFX and Paint Artist, performing advanced paint work for feature films, match-moving and compositing set extensions, and creating roto and stock elements.

From January to March of 2018, Clifton worked as a Motion Graphics and Design Artist at Chive Media Group, creating illustrated assets for SXSW and Chive TV, and animating multiple templates for customization through the Chive TV network.

Clifton'smost recent position is at Certain Affinity, where they have been working since December 2019 as a Senior FX Artist. In this role, they have been responsible for creating effects for multiple AAA games, using software like Faber, Lumberyard, Unreal Engine 5 with Niagara, and others.

Throughout their career, Clifton Stokes has gained expertise in various software and tools, including but not limited to: Illustrator, Photoshop, C4D, and tracking software.

Clifton Stokes attended The Art Institutes from 2010 to 2013, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Visual Effects and Motion Graphics. Clifton'sfield of study was focused on Animation, Interactive Technology, Video Graphics, and Special Effects. In addition to their degree, Clifton also obtained certifications in Texas Bartending in March 2011 and Troops to Roughnecks in May 2010.
