David Rickards

Level Designer at Certain Affinity

David Rickards has a diverse work experience in various roles. David started as a Production Assistant at Sharp Entertainment in 2011, where they supported the director, director of photography, and key grips. In 2012, they worked as a 2nd Camera Operator at Freight Train Films, responsible for capturing b-roll footage. David then returned to Sharp Entertainment as a Production Assistant.

In 2015, David joined Galt Productions as an Assistant Camera, working on a micro short film called "Bleach" and a short film called "Into the Water." Their responsibilities included setting up equipment, pulling focus, and collaborating with the director of photography. David also took on additional roles such as grip and best boy work.

David had a self-employed venture in 2011, creating levels for a vertical platformer game called Super Dust Bunny. David used a 2D map editor and worked on spreadsheets for this project.

In 2014, David worked as a Ramen Slinger at Daruma Ramen. Currently, they are employed at Certain Affinity as a Level Designer and a QA Specialist.

Overall, David has gained experience in production assistance, camera operation, game design, and various roles within the film industry.

David Rickards completed an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree in Game and Interactive Media Design at Austin Community College from 2014 to 2017. Prior to that, they attended Southern Maine Community College from 2010 to 2012, where they earned an Associate's degree in Communication and Media Studies.
