CLP Certification: Elevating the licensing industry through knowledge and standards.

The Certified Licensing Professional (CLP) credentialing program is a professional designation intended to distinguish individuals who have demonstrated experience, proficiency, knowledge and exposure to licensing and the commercialization of intellectual property. CLP-certified professionals are actively involved in patenting, marketing, valuation, IP law, negotiation, business development and intellectual asset management. Launched in 2008, approximately 800 individuals worldwide currently hold the credential.

Earning the CLP credential benefits every company in every industry, every educational institution and the careers of the business and legal professionals working in them. Certification opens up opportunities for career advancement, may increase earning potential and enhances job security and mobility. The CLP credential gives recruiters and human resources professionals confidence that they are hiring truly qualified and knowledgeable individuals for these multi-disciplinary roles.

After meeting the experience and education requirements, candidates must pass a 150-question exam to become certified. Certified individuals qualify for recertification by earning continued education credits, thereby demonstrating their commitment to lifelong learning and broadening their knowledge about evolving licensing issues.
