Nico Wägerle

Nico Wägerle has a diverse work experience in various legal and regulatory roles within the automotive industry. Nico is currently the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Certivity, a position they have held since March 2021. Prior to this, Nico worked at Argo AI as a Senior Legal Counsel and Regulatory Specialist for Autonomous Driving from June 2020 to November 2020.

Before joining Argo AI, Nico was a Senior Legal Counsel and Regulatory Specialist for Autonomous Driving at Autonomous Intelligent Driving GmbH. During their time there from June 2019 to June 2020, they played a key role in the legal department, providing advice on contract law, corporate law, privacy, and more. Nico also served as the Interims General Counsel and Project Lead during the closing phase of the company's merger with Argo AI, which was evaluated at 2.6 billion US dollars. Additionally, Nico led the company carve-out workstream for the integration of AID GmbH into Argo AI LLC, overseeing a team of internal and external contributors. Nico was also responsible for the company's Governmental Affairs and Public Affairs strategy and lobbying activities related to automated driving in Germany, the UK, the EU, the US, and China.

Prior to their role at Autonomous Intelligent Driving GmbH, Nico worked at Daimler AG, where they held various positions. Nico served as a Legal Regulatory Specialist for Autonomous Driving from February 2017 to June 2019, focusing on AD-regulations and developing solutions for upcoming regulatory challenges. Nico also worked as a Data Privacy Counsel for Corporate Data Protection from March 2016 to February 2017 and as a member of the Legal Department for Financial Services from July 2014 to March 2016.

In addition to their automotive industry experience, Nico has also gained legal and financial advisory experience through their role as a Pro bono student legal counsel at the Legal and Financial Advice Clinic at the University of South Wales / Cardiff in May 2015. Nico also had an internship in the labour law department at MAN Truck & Bus AG from August 2012 to March 2013 and worked as a Research Assistant at HTWG Konstanz from March 2011 to February 2012.

Nico Wägerle obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) in Wirtschaftsrecht from HTWG Hochschule Konstanz - Technik, Wirtschaft und Gestaltung, from 2010 to 2014. Nico then pursued a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Regulatory Affairs / International Commercial Law from HTWG Konstanz / University of South Wales / Cardiff, from 2014 to 2016.
