Richard Benjamin

Richard Benjamin is an accomplished medical professional with extensive experience in leadership roles within various organizations. Currently serving as Chief Medical Officer at Cerus since July 2015, Richard has previously held the same title at the American Red Cross from January 2006 to July 2015 and at American Red Cross Blood Services from April 2002 to December 2005. Prior to these roles, Richard was the Medical Director of the Adult Transfusion Service & Blood Bank at Brigham and Women's Hospital from January 1998 to March 2002. Richard's academic credentials include a Master of Science in Health Care Management from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Post Graduate Studies in Immunology from Stanford University School of Medicine, a PhD in Pathology from the University of Cambridge, and an MD in Medicine from the University of Cape Town.
