Sergio Soares holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Federal University of Pernambuco, earned in 2004. They are currently an Associate Professor and Vice-Director at the Informatics Center of the same university, which ranks among Brazil's top five Computer Science departments. Previously, Sergio served as a Visiting Researcher at the MIT Industrial Performance Center in 2020 and was the Director of the SENAI Innovation Institute for Information and Communication Technologies from 2013 to 2020. Additionally, they are the Executive Coordinator of INES - National Institute for Software Engineering and have played a significant role in coordinating various research and innovation projects across Brazil.
