Andy Starr

Andy Starr is a Senior CAD Designer I at CesiumAstro, having joined the company in October 2025. Prior to this role, Andy served as an Aerospace Engineer - GNC at Maxar Technologies, where responsibilities included geometric calibration and tool development for Earth-imaging spacecraft. Experience as the Cubesat Mechanical Lead at the Colorado Center for Astrodynamics Research involved mechanical design for the CANVAS cubesat. Earlier positions included an Aerospace Engineering Intern at Redwire Space, a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Merrick & Company, and a Spacecraft Command Controller at the Laboratory For Atmospheric and Space Physics. Andy also has experience as a CAD Designer at Handix Scientific and as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Colorado Boulder. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering, a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics, all from the University of Colorado Boulder.
