Ken Bollinger

CTE Curriculum Consultant at CEV Multimedia

Growing up on a 160 acre dairy and hog farm in Chelsea, MI, Ken Bollinger understands the true meaning of hard work and diligence, which he incorporates in his everyday life.

Bollinger, a recent retiree after 42 years in Career & Technical Education, has been recognized for many awards during his long-term teaching career. In 2006, he received the Phi Delta Kappa Educator of the Year Award and was the Michigan Farm Bureau Agriscience Educator of the Year in 2009. Throughout the past 11 years, Bollinger has helped purchase 75 acres where he developed an Agriscience Learning Center.

"At this center, students receive hands-on experiences in agricultural mechanics, equipment operations, animal science, plant science, ornamental horticulture and natural resource education," Bollinger said. "Being able to be a part of developing this center is by far my greatest accomplishment."

Bollinger says he takes great pride in his former students' success in their careers and personal lives. He believes that CTE teachers embody certain qualities that help shape students' futures and enjoys having the opportunity to continue working with them.

"CTE teachers are positive, practical, can-do individuals who know how to roll up their sleeves and get things done," Bollinger said.
