Stephen Scheirey

Senior Director Software Engineering at CEVA

Stephen Scheirey has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over three decades. Stephen began their career as a Software Engineer at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in 1990. Stephen then joined SALIX Technologies in 1996, where they developed core systems software for their Voice over IP (VOIP) product, leading to a successful acquisition by Tellabs in 2000. At SALIX, they were promoted to a Software Manager position within two years.

After the acquisition, Stephen worked at Tellabs as a Software Manager until 2001 when they joined Hillcrest Labs as the VP of Software Development. At Hillcrest Labs, they led software development activities in various areas, including application development, cloud-based server solutions, and embedded software. The company's products were shipped in tens of millions of units by major consumer electronics companies.

Stephen's career continued to progress when CEVA, Inc. acquired Hillcrest Labs in 2019. Since then, they have been serving as the Senior Director of Software Engineering at CEVA's Sensors and Audio Business Unit. In this role, they lead product software development, contributing to business strategy, product definition, and program management. The business unit focuses on delivering audio and sensor processing solutions based on machine learning, neural networks, and signal processing algorithms.

Stephen Scheirey attended Cornell University where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Stephen then went on to study Computer Science at The Johns Hopkins University, where they obtained a Master's degree.
