Leonardo Suárez is an experienced professional in the field of renewable energy and sustainability, currently serving as the Director of Ingeniería Energética Sostenible IES since January 2022 and as the Director of Ingeniería Energética con énfasis en Fuentes Renovables at Universidad Técnica Nacional since June 2020. Suárez has held influential roles within the Colegio Federado de Ingenieros y de Arquitectos de Costa Rica as a member of the Renewable Energy Commission and as a Master’s level professor at Universidad de Costa Rica. A project engineer for DUAL ARQUITECTURA Y CONSTRUCCIÓN since May 2015, Suárez has previously worked with Banco Nacional de Costa Rica and FUNSEAM as a project engineer and researcher, respectively. Educational qualifications include a Master Oficial en Energías Renovables y Sostenibilidad Energética from Universitat de Barcelona and a Licenciatura en Ingeniería Mecánica from Universidad de Costa Rica, supplemented by ongoing studies at Solar Energy International.
