Melissa Freye

Melissa Freye is the Communications Director at the Community Foundation for Muskegon County, where they have been leading communications since 2015. With over 28 years of experience in strategic public relations, marketing, and crisis communications, they have previously held significant roles including Principal at Insight, LLC and Director of Communications at the Council of Michigan Foundations. Melissa's early career included impactful positions such as Development Director at Hackley Hospital and Public Relations & Development Director at the Muskegon Museum of Art. They earned a Master’s degree in Organizational Communication from Western Michigan University and a Bachelor’s degree in Music/Theatre/Speech from Central Michigan University.
