James Porter

James Porter has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. James began their career as a Trainee Chartered Accountant at Goodman Jones in 1995 and worked there until 1999. James then joined The Signature Group of Companies as a Financial Controller, overseeing a £50m property development program. From 2003 to 2006, James served as a Non-Executive Director at Bibliotech Holdings Plc, specializing in online managed learning environments and sports clubs.

In 2006, James moved to City Gateway Media as a Financial & Operations Director, where they co-founded the company and managed a digital Out of Home media estate. James then held roles as Group Head of Finance at Action Cameras and Drift Innovation from 2012 to 2013, contributing to the growth of both companies in the action sports market.

In 2014, James joined Maistro PLC as the Group Financial Controller, responsible for the online B2B Marketplace and AI-powered delivery platform. James later became the Interim Chief Financial Officer in 2017 and continued in these roles until 2019.

Currently, James is working at CFPro Ltd as an Associate Director and Strategic Projects Director. CFPro is a niche provider of technical accounting services, assisting small to mid-sized companies in their growth and IPO preparation. James has been a valuable asset to CFPro since joining in 2019.

James Porter attended Clifton College Bristol from 1989 to 1991. During this time, they did not pursue a specific degree or field of study.
