Eric Duflos

Senior Financial Sector Specialist

Eric Duflos is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in financial sector development, focusing on consumer protection, financial inclusion, and microfinance. Currently serving as a Senior Financial Sector Specialist at CGAP since June 2020, Duflos leads initiatives to ensure positive outcomes of digital financial services, particularly for women and vulnerable groups. From June 2016 to June 2020, Duflos held the position of Director at the UNSGSA, supporting the work of Queen Máxima of the Netherlands in promoting inclusive finance. Duflos has a notable history with CGAP, having served in various roles since 2003, including Regional Representative for East Asia and the Pacific and contributing to key microfinance reviews. Duflos’ career also includes academic positions at Sciences Po and the Boulder Institute of Microfinance and advisory roles in financial sector reforms in the Lao PDR and with the World Bank. Duflos holds a Master’s degree in Economics and International Relations from Johns Hopkins SAIS and a Master's degree in Management from emlyon business school.
