Gayatri Murthy is a development research specialist currently serving as a Senior Specialist in Women’s Equity in Finance and the CGAP Gender Lead. Since 2015, they have led initiatives focused on women's financial inclusion, working with financial service providers in Africa and South Asia. Previously, Gayatri held roles at GiveIndia and Intermedia: Global Research and Counsel, and they completed a Master of Arts in International Communication at American University in 2009. Their early experience includes an internship with Bennett, Coleman and Co. Ltd., where they published articles on urban issues.
