Johanna Kämppi

Johanna K. is a Cat Risk Research Analyst at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty since October 2025, previously holding roles as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Research Associate at the Technical University of Munich from January 2021 to September 2025, focusing on ecoclimatology and wildlife rescue strategies using remote sensing and geoinformation methods. Additional experience includes serving as a Visiting Research Associate at the University of Zurich in late 2023, an Earth Observation Analyst at Earthwave in late 2020, and as a Research Intern at the University of the Sunshine Coast and an Intern at the German Aerospace Center in 2018. Johanna K. began the academic journey with a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography from the University of Bonn, followed by an Erasmus exchange at University College Cork, and a Master's in Earth Observation & Geoinformation Management from The University of Edinburgh. Currently pursuing a Doctor's Degree in Spatial Ecology at the Technical University of Munich, with an expected completion date in December 2024.
