Neil Smithies

Neil Smithies is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in the public sector, currently serving as Chief Technology Officer for CGI in government client services since June 2022. Previously, Neil held the position of Head of Digital & IT Product and Architecture at the Information Commissioner's Office, where key responsibilities included establishing the Architecture Practice and spearheading a 3-year digital transformation roadmap. A background as Lead Solutions Architect at the Department for Work and Pensions followed additional roles, including Director at NJTF Solutions, Solutions Architect at Manchester City Council, Information Systems Analyst at Bolton Council, Pharmacy Computing & Information Manager at Central Manchester & Manchester Children's University Hospitals NHS Trust, and Systems Developer at Community Healthcare Bolton. Neil's educational foundation includes a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Salford.
