Chachia or Chechia (Arabic : شاشية) a symbolic cap proudly adorned across the Maghreb, traces its noble roots all the way back to 7th century Kairouan, Tunisia when Uqba Ibn Nafi, the famous conqueror, fashioned the local headgear. Kairouan at that time served as a regional center of culture and innovation, spreading its wealth of advancement towards Europe and across the Middle East.

Over a thousand years later, the Chachia continues to be a distinctive North African tradition, connotative to all yet repurposed to suit every corner of the region.

Based in Tunisia and Morocco with operations across the Region - Chachia is one of the very few Digital Rights Management and Copyright Protection ventures created by Maghreb entrepreneurs, self-funded and privately held by passionate techies, with the aim to evolve the way content is discovered, consumed and monetized in the region.
