Senior UX Designer I at ChaiOne

Rick Carruth has a diverse work experience in the field of design. Rick started their career as a Graphic Designer at Tennis Express in 2009. Rick then worked as a Marketing Assistant at Las Terrazas Resort in 2009. In 2010, they worked as a Graphic Designer at the Art Institute of Houston and later became a Senior Graphic Designer at Obsidian Learning, working there from 2010 to 2018. During this time, they also had freelance roles, including being a Freelance Graphic Designer at The Beans and S. Westmoreland in 2018. In 2013, they worked as a Freelance Graphic Designer for BLSHS/Neon Lips, where they created cover art for the band's EPs. Rick joined ChaiOne in 2018 as an Interaction Designer and then moved on to become a UI/UX Designer at Orange Logic in 2021. Returning to ChaiOne in 2021, they held the position of UX Designer II and is currently a Senior UX Designer I.

Rick Carruth has a Bachelor of Arts - BA degree in Graphic Design, which they obtained from The Art Institutes between 2007 and 2010. Prior to that, from 2000 to 2002, they attended Wharton County Junior College and studied Drafting. In 1997 and 1998, Rick attended Lee College, where they pursued Fine Art. Rick completed their high school education at Dayton High School, earning a High School Diploma in General Studies from 1993 to 1997.

In addition to their formal education, Rick has obtained several certifications. Rick acquired a Membership Certificate from The Interaction Design Foundation in May 2022. Rick also obtained certifications from LinkedIn, including "Managing Your Anxiety While Presenting" in February 2022, "Data Visualization: Best Practices," "Data Visualization: Storytelling," "Interaction Design: Dashboards and Visualization," and "Learning Data Science: Tell Stories With Data" in April 2021. Furthermore, Rick completed a certification in "Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner" offered by IBM in April 2020. Moreover, they completed various certifications from The Interaction Design Foundation, including "UI Design Patterns for Successful Software" in August 2022, "Information Visualization" in June 2023, and "How to Design with and for Artificial Intelligence" in June 2023.
