John Rawling is a seasoned sports commentator with extensive experience in boxing and athletics. Currently serving as a boxing commentator for BT Sport since January 2017, Rawling has also been an athletics commentator for Channel 4 since 2011. Previously, Rawling worked for BoxNation as a boxing commentator from 2011 to January 2017 and covered sailing from 2011 to 2014. An established figure in sports commentary, Rawling was the president of The Old Gits Society from 1982 to 2012 and served as a sports commentator for ITV between September 2005 and 2010, specializing in boxing, football, and darts. Earlier roles included being a sports correspondent for the BBC from August 1983 to August 2005, focusing on athletics and boxing, as well as contributing to BBC Sport as an athletics correspondent and boxing commentator from 1988 to 2005. John Rawling holds a BA Hons in Geography from The University of Manchester, earned between 1975 and 1978, and attended King Edward VII School in Sheffield from 1968 to 1974.
