Jon Birchall currently serves as the Social Innovation & Strategy Lead at Channel 4, a position held since August 2025. Prior to this role, Birchall was the Director of Editorial Strategy at LADbible Group from April 2022 to August 2025. With experience at Reach plc as Audience and Content Director for Future Audiences and Sports, Birchall has focused on strategies to engage new audiences and enhance sports content delivery. Previous roles include Head of Digital Sport at Trinity Mirror plc and Media Content Planner at Manchester United. Birchall began a career in journalism at Goal.com, progressing from Deputy Editor to Assistant Editor, and briefly worked in CMS Management for FIFA. Educational qualifications include a First Class Honours BA in International Journalism from Liverpool John Moores University and completion of the Cranfield Talent Development Programme in 2018.
