Neila Butt

Neila Butt has a diverse work experience in various roles within the media industry. Neila began their career at the BBC in 2002, working as a SBJ on the news desks and eventually becoming an Assistant Editor. In 2012, they became an Editor, managing the Music and Events department of a radio station. Neila then transitioned to working in the English Regions, where they held several leadership positions such as Editor of Diversity and Editor of Specialist Programmes. Neila also participated in the BBC Clore Leadership Programme. In 2018, they joined BBC News as the Head of Internal Communications and Engagement. Most recently, Neila worked as the Creative Diversity Lead for Nations and Regions at Channel 4. Neila briefly served as the Editor of BBC Radio WM before taking on their current position.
