Chapter Zero Uzbekistan is the first Chapter Zero initiative in Central Asia and part of the Chapter Zero Alliance, a global network advancing climate and nature governance in the boardroom and creating long-term strategic value. The Alliance supports a network of more than 30 Chapters across 70 countries, reaching over 100,000 board directors worldwide.

Hosted by Westminster International University in Tashkent and supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Chapter Zero Uzbekistan brings together board members, senior executives and corporate leaders to strengthen corporate governance, climate governance, ESG awareness and sustainable business practices in Uzbekistan.

Our mission is to equip leaders with the knowledge, tools and community needed to address climate-related risks and opportunities and support the transition towards a sustainable, low-carbon economy.

Our goal is to build a community of non-executive directors and senior leadership and equip them to lead crucial boardroom discussions on the impacts of climate change. Chapter Zero Uzbekistan members will help ensure their companies are fit for the future and that net zero ambitions are transformed into robust plans and measurable action.

We aim to enable members of corporate supervisory and management boards in Uzbekistan to engage in addressing climate change and look for ways to achieve net zero emissions in the coming years. It is a project that meets expectations for elevating sustainable development issues to the highest levels of corporate leadership which impacts our reality and future.
