Jonathan Gumucio

Jonathan Gumucio is currently the Director of Drug Discovery at Character Biosciences, a position held since 2025. Prior to this, they served in various roles at Character Biosciences, including Associate Director and Senior Scientist, and gained significant experience as a Senior Scientist at Merck, focusing on early drug discovery in cardiometabolic fields. Jonathan has also contributed to research at the University of Michigan Medical School as a Postdoctoral Fellow and worked as a Recruiting Assistant for the University of Michigan Athletics football team. They are pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Movement Science, alongside a Doctor of Philosophy in Molecular and Integrative Physiology at the University of Michigan.
