John Corey

John Corey has extensive work experience in various engineering and management roles. John started their career as a Senior Design Engineer at Mechanical Technology, Inc., where they led the development of a multi-fuel Stirling-cycle engine design. John then became an Associate Professor at Union College, where they developed coursework and taught core courses in Dynamics and Systems/Controls.

In 1985, John founded their own company, John A Corey, and worked as a Consulting Engineer, providing advanced design services to numerous companies worldwide. John invented the double-depth cellular window and key manufacturing equipment that later became the basis for Comfortex Corporation. John also provided advanced designs to a nationally-known compressor manufacturer.

In 1987, John joined Comfortex Corp. as the Director of R&D, where they led the technical development of primary products from inception to over $100 million per year. Their successes include the development of double-cell and 3-D 'fabric venetian' window shade products and their manufacture. John also developed unique manufacturing equipment and systems, such as the world's fastest pleater and a helical textile lap-laminator.

In 1989, John became the President of CFIC-Qdrive (Clever Fellows), a contract product and equipment development group. Under their leadership, CFIC-Qdrive evolved into a globally recognized leader in high-reliability on-site cryogenic equipment. They developed the Qdrive product line, particularly the acoustic-Stirling cryocoolers, which are now sold worldwide.

In 2011, John joined Chart Industries, Inc. as the Vice President for Innovation, Biomedical Division. John later became the Vice President for Research and Development. While at Chart Industries, they contributed to the research and development of innovative biomedical technologies.

Throughout their career, John has demonstrated their expertise in engineering, product development, and management, with a focus on energy conversion devices, window coverings, and cryogenic equipment.

John Corey earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Math from Union College in 1980. John also obtained a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution in 1980.
