Kelly Dun has extensive work experience in the field of software engineering and management.
Starting in 2002, Kelly worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as a Scientist and Engineer, where they developed the Chemical-Biological-Radiation Hazard Assessment Calculator (CBRC) project. This application was designed to assist emergency responders in determining the safety of different areas within a hazard zone.
In 2003, Kelly joined the University of California, Davis as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant. Kelly'sresearch focused on machine learning applications for bioinformatics, specifically developing the CM3 process for predicting regulatory relationships between genes. As a Teaching Assistant, Kelly led discussion sections and taught classes on abstract data types, algorithms, and software engineering.
Moving on to professional positions, Kelly became a Senior Software Engineer at MorphoTrak in 2005. Kelly successfully designed and developed a unified biometric device API, which simplified integration of new devices and ensured interoperability and maintainability. Additionally, Kelly led and trained a team of developers, keeping the project on schedule and winning key contracts with a custom biometric communications server.
From 2012 to 2016, Kelly held two roles simultaneously. At Flixster, they served as the Lead Mobile Engineer and implemented systematic improvements to raise the app's rating from 1.5 to 4.5 stars. Concurrently, at GridSense Inc., Kelly worked as a Senior Software Engineer.
In 2016, Kelly joined Twitter as a Staff Software Engineer and Technical Lead of the MoPub Ad Formats Team. Kelly drove the implementation of high-impact projects, including the GDPR consent system for privacy compliance and the client-side waterfall project, which improved ad unit latency and increased market share.
Most recently, in 2022, Kelly became an Engineering Manager at Chartboost.
Kelly Dun earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of California, Davis. Kelly then went on to pursue a Master of Science degree in Computer Science, also at the University of California, Davis.
