John O. began their career in 1982 as a New York City Housing Police Officer, advancing to Assistant Chief in the New York City Police Department. As Executive Officer of the NYPD’s Intelligence Division, John coordinated security for over 300 dignitaries during the UN General Assembly and later managed disaster recovery efforts post-9/11 as Commissioner of NYC’s Office of Emergency Management. From 2004 to 2023, they served as Managing Director at Citi, where John led initiatives in business continuity and crisis management, significantly enhancing the organization's resiliency. In 2023, John founded Ashwood Advisors, offering specialized services in resiliency and security. They hold a master's degree in Public Administration from New York University and an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree from St. Joseph's College.
