Steven Cao

Steven Cao has extensive experience in the power and energy sector, currently serving as Executive Director for Chayora since October 2011, where responsibilities include managing relationships with the Chinese government and local business partners across multiple cities. Previously, Steven held roles such as Secretary-General and Senior Manager at the China Society for Electrical Engineering and Head of Power Division at Mott MacDonald, where strategic leadership and engineering expertise were key. Early in the career, Steven contributed to international business development at the State Grid Corporation of China, among other roles. Educationally, Steven holds a Master’s Degree in Mass Communication from the University of Stirling and a Bachelor's degree in Electric Power System from North China Electric Power University, alongside additional qualifications in Electrical Power System and Chinese Law.
