Roy Mersland

Roy Mersland is an accomplished academic and business leader with extensive experience in various roles across multiple organizations. Currently a Visiting Professor at Université libre de Bruxelles since January 2012, Mersland has also held academic positions at the University of Agder, including Associate Professor and PhD Fellow. As a founder and CEO of Banco D-MIRO from 1997 to January 2020, Mersland oversaw a range of responsibilities and currently serves as a board director. Previous marketing leadership was demonstrated as Chief Marketing Officer at Vårt Land from 1990 to 1994. In addition to academic and banking pursuits, Mersland has been the Owner of Mersland as since 2003, focusing on investments and consultancy, and holds the position of Board Chair at Checkin AS since January 2016. Mersland's educational background includes a PhD in International Business from Handelshøyskolen ved Universitetet i Agder and a Master of Business and Marketing from Handelshøyskolen BI, along with an MBA from Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María.
