Rafael Abreu

Rafael Abreu is a seasoned professional in the field of software engineering with extensive experience in security vulnerability analysis and application development. Currently serving as Team Leader and Software Engineer at Checkmarx since February 2018, Rafael specializes in developing queries to uncover security vulnerabilities across multiple programming languages using Checkmarx's internal API and has expertise in language parsing with C# and ANTLR. Prior to Checkmarx, Rafael worked at WeDo Technologies from January 2015 to January 2018 as a Software Developer, focusing on migrating a desktop application to a web-based platform, Java backend, and JavaScript frontend development, as well as managing the company flow system. Early in the career, Rafael held the position of Software & Hardware Quality Manager at Q-Better for nine months, ensuring quality control, managing client support, and overseeing hardware assembly. Rafael holds a Master's degree and Bachelor's degree in Informatics Engineering from Universidade do Minho, complemented by a technological background in Informatics from Escola Secundária de Caldas de Vizela.
