Farah Gupta

Farah Gupta is an experienced professional with a strong background in risk operations strategy and enablement. Farah currently serves as the Director of Risk Operations Strategy & Enablement at Checkout.com, a position they have held since December 2021.

Prior to their role at Checkout.com, Farah worked at PayPal, where they held various leadership positions. From October 2020 to December 2021, they were the Regional Lead for North America & LATAM Underwriting. In this role, they oversaw the underwriting and onboarding process for PayPal's largest merchants in the US, Canada, and LATAM. Farah also served as an approver on the Credit Risk Committee, balancing portfolio exposure and risk tolerance for high-risk merchants. Additionally, Farah directly engaged with merchants, explaining PayPal's risk tolerance and underwriting practices, and developed customized solutions for large enterprise customers.

Before their time at PayPal, Farah worked at Braintree, where they held multiple roles. From August 2019 to October 2020, they served as the Manager of North America Underwriting. In this role, they managed a team responsible for underwriting and enabling new business for Braintree and PayPal in the North America region. Farah also implemented system and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and collaborated with various stakeholders to gain buy-in. Prior to this, Farah was the Manager of Special Credits, overseeing a global portfolio of high-risk and high-loss potential merchants. Farah negotiated collateral positions, implemented pricing increases, and managed merchants through bankruptcy processes.

Before joining Braintree, Farah gained experience at JPMorgan Chase. Farah worked as an Underwriter from August 2013 to August 2014, and prior to that, they served as a Commercial Banking Analyst from June 2012 to August 2013.

Throughout their career, Farah has demonstrated expertise in risk operations, underwriting, and portfolio management. Farah has a proven track record of driving operational efficiency, implementing process improvements, and developing customized solutions for clients.

Farah Gupta attended Phillips Academy from 2004 to 2008, where they completed their secondary education. Following that, they enrolled at Northwestern University from 2008 to 2012 and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in American Studies.
