Javier Casas

Javier Casas has extensive work experience in various roles within the technology industry. Javier is currently working at Checkout.com as the Director of Solution Engineering for South Europe. Prior to this role, they held the position of Head of Solution Engineering for South Europe at the same company.

Before joining Checkout.com, Javier worked at Amadeus, where they held several positions. Javier served as the Head of Hospitality Payments Product Management, leading the development of a new payments strategy and managing the positioning and commercial models of hospitality payment products. Javier also worked as the Manager Sales Engineer for Europe, Travel Payments, where they were responsible for sales management and solution definition for major European airlines and travel agencies. Additionally, they worked as a Sales Engineer for Hotel Distribution, focusing on pre-sales management and product positioning. Earlier in their career at Amadeus, Javier worked as a Project Manager for Hotel IT e-commerce, leading the e-commerce migration of a Spanish hotel chain, and as a Software Engineer, serving as a functional expert and project coordinator for change requirements.

Javier also has experience as the Founder of ShivaJ, where they created, managed, and provided customer support for various web solutions and network games. Additionally, they worked as a Software Engineer - Research Assistant at The Mærsk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute, managing a research and development team and handling project management and adoption of technologies.

At the beginning of their career, Javier worked as a Software Engineer at inLab FIB. Overall, Javier Casas has a diverse background in solution engineering, product management, sales, project management, and software development.

Javier Casas has a diverse education history. In 2020, they attended the IESE Business School and completed the Advanced Management Program - PDD, focusing on Business Administration and Management. Prior to that, they pursued studies in Robotics, AI, and Computer Vision at the Syddansk Universitet - University of Southern Denmark, although the specific degree obtained is unknown.

Earlier in their education, Javier studied at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, where they obtained a degree in Computer Engineering in 2007. Their specialization within this field was in Interfaces and System Integration.

In addition to their formal education, Javier has obtained several certifications. In 2013, they acquired the Expert Scrum Foundations certification from Xsfera and became a Professional Scrum Master through Scrum.org. In 2012, they obtained certifications in Emergency First Response from the Croix-Rouge française and obtained the Rescue Diver certification from PADI, showcasing their training in emergency response situations. Most recently, in May 2021, they obtained the Certified SAFe® 5 Product Owner/Product Manager certification from Scaled Agile, Inc.
