Patrick Starkman

Patrick Starkman currently serves as Secrétaire général and a Board Member at AFEPAME since March 2024. Patrick has held the position of Director General and Sr. Legal Counsel at Checkout.com since April 2021, contributing to the firm's status as a leading European fintech entity. Starkman operates as a consultant in corporate, regulatory, and public affairs through STARKMAN, and serves on the Steering Committee of Confrontations Europe, where Patrick has taken on interim management roles. With extensive experience in financial regulation, Starkman previously worked at the European Securities and Markets Authority as Head of External Relations and at the Autorité des marchés financiers in various capacities. His academic credentials include a law degree from Ecole de formation professionnelle des Barreaux de la cour d’appel de Paris and advanced degrees in international economic law and international business law from the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne.
