Tom Bennett has extensive work experience in the technology and IT field. Tom currently works at Checkout.com as the Senior Director of Workplace Technology. Prior to that, they worked at Expedia Group as the Director of Employee Productivity, where they led a team of 40+ engineers and was responsible for strategy, technical innovation, and employee development. Tom also played a crucial role in a complex divestiture project and owned the Productivity Tools workstream. Before Expedia Group, Tom held positions at HomeAway.com, where they served as the Director of Corporate Technology and the Sr. Manager of Corporate Technology. In these roles, they led global IT teams, managed strategic planning and vendor relationships, and successfully consolidated and migrated Vrbo's corporate technology stack and operations. Tom's work at HomeAway.com also included implementing identity management systems, migrating IT services to AWS, improving data synchronization, and redesigning the build and deployment pipeline. Prior to HomeAway.com, they worked at FreshMinds as the Head of IT, where they were responsible for long-term IT strategy and planning, procurement, and providing IT support and training. Tom also revised the company's business continuity and disaster recovery plans. Tom began their career at Dr Challoner's Grammar School as an IT Support Technician, where they played a key role in expanding IT in education, providing support and training, and developing custom applications. Tom Bennett attended the University of Nottingham from 2001 to 2005, where they pursued a degree in Physics. Tom successfully completed their studies and obtained a Physics MSci.
