Krista Moroder has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Krista started their career as a High School English and Video Production Teacher at the School District of Reedsburg from 2009 to 2012. During this time, they also served as the Theater Technical Director, managing a team and overseeing artistic and technical design for shows.
In 2012, Krista became the Director of Learning, Instructional Technology, and Library Media at the Kettle Moraine School District. Krista developed a digital transformation strategy and sat on advisory boards for the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and Google in Education.
From 2014 to 2016, they worked at Digital Promise, where they held various roles including Founding Project Manager, Micro-credentials Initiative, Founding Professional Development Manager, Verizon Innovative Learning Schools (VILS), and Project Director, VILS. In these roles, they directed projects, secured funding, and expanded STEM opportunities in US schools.
Krista then joined Globality, Inc. in 2016 as a Full Stack Software Engineer. Krista took the initiative to become the first full stack engineer in a team of developers, built microservices, and contributed to migrations and API integrations.
In 2018, Krista worked at CodeOp as a Founding Curriculum Developer and Instructor, where they developed educational programs. Krista also served as a Senior Educational Software Engineer at Code Chrysalis, managing and mentoring engineering teams.
In 2019, they became an Advisor at NonQuixote, a creative technology agency, where they were involved in managing sales and developing engineering curriculum.
Krista also had a significant career at Checkr, Inc. Krista started as an Engineering Manager in 2019 and introduced process improvements to reduce ticket volume and incident impact. Krista successfully recruited a gender-diverse engineering team and initiated a lunch and learn program for new engineering managers. Later, they became a Product Owner, leading the core product motor vehicle reports during a period of hyper-growth and unicorn valuation. Krista then served as a Senior Engineering Manager, focusing on quality, reliability, and overall R&D investment. Finally, they assumed the role of Director of Engineering, where they supported a large team of engineers and introduced engineering rotations and taskforces to address scalability concerns.
In addition to their roles in various organizations, Krista Moroder also served as a Member of the Board of Advisors at CodeOp, a coding school supporting women and nonconforming individuals in tech.
Krista Moroder attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point from 2004 to 2009, where they pursued a degree in Secondary Education. Their field of study included English and Drama.
