Simon Wai

Simon Wai has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Simon joined Checkr, Inc. in 2019 as a Senior Software Engineer. Prior to their current role, Simon worked at Xero from 2016 to 2019, where they held various positions including Engineering Manager, Lead Software Engineer, and Senior Software Engineer. Before joining Xero, Simon was a Senior Software Engineer at Steelwedge Software from 2013 to 2016. Simon began their career at Celestica in 2005 as a Student Intern and gradually worked their way up to become an IT Application Specialist, IT Application Analyst, and IT Application Associate. During their time at Celestica, Simon implemented various software systems and projects that resulted in significant cost savings, increased revenue, and improved operational efficiency.

Simon Wai attended the University of Toronto from 2001 to 2006, where they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Computer Engineering. In addition to their degree, Simon obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2003, they became a Microsoft Certified Professional and a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator. Simon also received certifications as an A+ Certified Professional, Linux+ Certified Professional, and Network+ Certified Professional, all from CompTIA, in June 2003. Furthermore, in September 2019, Simon Wai obtained the NAPBS FCRA Basic Certification from the Professional Background Screening Association (PBSA).
