Rob Smith

Vice President, Regulatory Affairs at Cheniere Energy

Rob Smith has a diverse work experience, starting as an Infantry Officer in the US Army from 2002 to 2009. Rob then worked as a Manager in Deloitte's Strategy & Operations practice from 2009 to 2013, providing strategic advisory support to Defense organizations. From 2013 to 2014, they served as a Program Analyst in the Office of the Deputy Chief Management Officer at the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Smith then joined the US Department of Energy (DOE) in 2014 and held various roles, including Director, Planning & Administration, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Oil & Natural Gas, Chief of Staff, and Senior Advisor. Rob worked at the DOE until 2019 when they became the Vice President of Regulatory Affairs at Cheniere Energy, Inc.

Rob Smith earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Economics from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2002. Rob then pursued a Master's degree, obtaining an MPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford in 2004. Additionally, they hold a certification as a Certified Defense Financial Manager from the American Society of Military Comptrollers.
