Latha Cherath

Latha Cherath, MD, Ph.D., currently serves as the National Director of Clinical Effectiveness at ChenMed since August 2020, where previous roles included Regional Chief Medical Officer, Regional Chief Clinical Officer, Regional Medical Director, and Center Medical Director. Prior experience includes an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine from January 2014 to July 2020 and a Copello Health Advocacy Fellow with the National Physicians Alliance in 2018, where leadership and advocacy skills were developed. Latha was also a Clinical Assistant Professor at Penn Medicine from January 2014 to December 2016, providing acute inpatient care and supervising medical students and residents. Latha's earlier positions include Post-doctoral Research Fellow at Rutgers University and Graduate Teaching Assistant at SUNY Upstate Medical University Hospital, with a strong emphasis on research and education. Latha holds an MD from Rutgers University - Newark and a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from Upstate Medical University.
