Josh Schaffzin

Josh Schaffzin is a seasoned healthcare professional with extensive experience in pediatric medicine and infectious diseases. Current positions include Staff Physician and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at CHEO since November 2022, and previously held roles such as Director of Healthcare Epidemiology and Infection Control at the New York State Department of Health, and EIS Officer at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Additional experience includes serving as a Pediatric Hospitalist at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and various academic and clinical roles focused on infection prevention and clinical pediatrics. Educational credentials include a B.A. in Chemistry with a concentration in Biochemistry from Washington University in St. Louis, a Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics and Microbiology, and an MD from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
