Vera Etches

Vera Etches has dedicated their career to serving children and youth, recently becoming the President and CEO of CHEO, where they oversee operations, research, and advocacy. Prior to joining CHEO in 2025, Vera held several positions at Ottawa Public Health from 2014 to 2018, including Medical Officer of Health. Vera earned a Master of Health Science in Public Health and Preventive Medicine from the University of Toronto, completing their degree in 2005. They are committed to expanding access to care and ensuring the organization meets the evolving needs of children and youth.
