Michael Sims

Michael Sims serves as a Fire Captain and Public Relations and Recruitment Specialist at Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services since September 2007. In this role, Michael is responsible for the recruitment and retention of a diverse workforce, collaborating with various departmental leaders to implement recruitment strategies. Prior positions include Fire Lieutenant, Fire Sergeant, Fire Apparatus Operator/Paramedic, Fire Apparatus Operator/EMT-Intermediate, and Firefighter/EMT-Intermediate, where responsibilities encompassed technical supervision, emergency response, and personnel management. Michael's experience also includes the role of Health Lodge Director for the Atlanta Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, and Assistant Manager at V & V Foods, LLC. Education credentials include certifications from the Georgia Fire Academy in various fire and emergency services disciplines and a high school diploma from Polaris Evening School and Sequoyah High School.
