Elliott Neff first began their work experience in 1998 as a Project Manager for EIB Construction where they managed the construction of custom built homes. Elliott then moved on to work as a Manager for Chess House, a mail-order and internet chess company, from 2000 to 2003. In 2005, they founded Chess4Life and took on the role of CEO, where they directed the vision of the company and pursued new opportunities to teach life skills through chess. In the same year, they also founded the Chess Enrichment Association and served as its President, providing funding for children who could not afford chess lessons. In 2017, Neff became an author and speaker, promoting their book "A Pawn's Journey" and showcasing their skills as a blindfold and simultaneous chess exhibitor.
