Chicago Mama’s Kitchen | West Town, Chicago

Where Puerto Rican Flavor Meets Chicago Soul.

At Chicago Mama’s Kitchen (formerly Chicago Empanada Mama), we bring people together through bold, soulful food, rooted in Puerto Rican tradition and elevated by a love for community, culture, and hospitality.

Led by Chef Inez Melendez, Chicago Mama’s Kitchen is an upscale, casual dining experience located in the heart of West Town. We specialize in authentic, handcrafted empanadas, vibrant island-inspired dishes, and unique culinary experiences—from immersive empanada-making classes to cocktail mixology events and private dining that feels like home.

Whether catering for 200 guests or curating an intimate evening of storytelling through food, we believe every dish is an invitation—to gather, to celebrate, and to savor.
