Bill Scheibe has a diverse range of work experience in the field of journalism and communications. Bill started their career as the Editor in Chief of Soccer Illinois in 1990 before becoming the Director of Media Relations for the Chicago Power professional soccer team in 1991. Bill then worked at the Morris Herald News as an Assistant Sports Editor from 1992 to 1995, where they handled various tasks including writing, editing, designing, and photography. Bill continued their career at the Joliet Herald News, initially as a staff writer and then as the Assistant Sports Editor from 1995 to 2010. During their time there, they contributed significantly to the section's visibility and boosted the paper's circulation through innovative new products and special sections. From 2011 to 2012, they served as the Director of Communications for Joliet Catholic Academy, promoting the high school through print and online channels and pitching stories that received both local and national media coverage. Bill then joined the Chicago Sun-Times as the Suburban Sports Editor from 2013 to 2014, overseeing the budgeting of sports content for multiple publications and managing the award-winning Season Pass website. Since 2015, they have been working at the Chicago Tribune Media Group as the Senior Content Editor, where they coordinate the budgeting and content in sports for numerous suburban dailies and weeklies and supervises a team of writers and freelancers.

Bill Scheibe attended Moraine Valley Community College from 1986 to 1988, where they earned an Associate's degree in General Studies. Following this, from 1988 to 1990, they studied at Columbia College Chicago and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Journalism.
