Cathy Lipton

Cathy Lipton is an experienced medical professional with a focus on geriatrics and institutional programs. Currently serving as a member of Chief since February 2022, Cathy has held the position of National Medical Director for Institutional Programs at Optum since December 2019, following a long tenure at Optum Complex Care Management since 2009, where roles included East Region Medical Director and Senior Medical Director. Additionally, Cathy has been a Medical Director at UnitedHealth Group since 1995 and previously served as the Medical Director for Evercare Georgia. From 1990 to 1997, Cathy was a Geriatrician at Emory University. Educational credentials include an M.D. in Internal Medicine/Geriatric Medicine from Emory University School of Medicine and a B.A. in English from Tufts University, along with a residency/fellowship in Internal Medicine/Geriatrics at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals.
