Ruth Allen has a diverse work experience. Ruth began their career as an Account Manager at Carr Communications from 2003 to 2008. Following that, they joined The Communications Clinic as a Senior Consultant and founding member, where they provided strategic advice and guidance to clients in various sectors until 2012. Since 2012, Ruth has been associated with ChildVision National Education Centre for Blind Children & Multi-disabled Children, initially serving as Communications Manager and Fundraising Specialist and then transitioning to the role of Head of Communications and Development in February 2018. Throughout their career, Ruth has demonstrated expertise in communications, branding, crisis management, public affairs, and fundraising.
Ruth Allen has a diverse and well-rounded education history. In 1991, they attended Trinity College Dublin, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Music Performance, General, which they completed in 1995. Later, in 2018, they enrolled in the Irish Management Institute and completed a Diploma in Leadership as part of the Master's in Business program. In the following year, they completed a Professional Diploma in the Management of Governance Risk and Compliance. In 2020, Ruth continued their education at the Irish Management Institute, completing a Professional Diploma in Strategy and Innovation as part of their pursuit of a Master's in Business from University College Cork. Recently, in 2021, they attended Trinity Business School for a short course on Creating Value with ESG.

ChildVision
Ireland’s National Resource Centre for Children and Young People with Sight Loss, many of whom have profound disabilities. We provide education programmes, therapeutic intervention and residential term time living to ensure all young people with sight loss get a chance to reach their own unique potential. We look after children from all over Ireland ranging in age from birth to 23 years of age. Meeting the individual needs of each child in ChildVision is at the core of what we do. Our staff work together to realise the unique potential with each boy and girl no matter how severe the disability. The team includes speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, teachers, nurses, braille specialists, social care workers, pet and equine therapists as well as our team of maintenance and household staff who work across campus.
