Danny Friel

Danny Friel is a seasoned professional in data analysis and policy research with a robust background spanning over a decade. Currently serving as the Lead Analyst for Economic Insights at Chime since May 2025, Danny previously held the position of Research Mathematical Statistician at the Bureau of Labor Statistics, focusing on statistical methods, data science, and privacy measures. Other significant roles include National Director of Research and Evaluation at LIFT, Inc., and Senior Evaluation Manager at AppleTree Institute for Education Innovation, where Danny advanced educational evaluation methodologies. Danny's experience also encompasses a variety of research fellowships and assistant roles, including at the San Francisco Office of Early Care and Education and the MIT Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences. Danny holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Linguistics from Swarthmore College and a Master of Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley.
