Sergey Shumov

Sergey Shumov is an experienced software engineer with a strong background in building scalable and innovative systems. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer at Chime since March 2020, Sergey focuses on developing a next-generation financial platform. Previously, Sergey held a Senior Software Engineer position at Segment, where contributions included scaling the Personas backend and influencing product architecture during a rapid growth phase. Prior roles also include leading a team at News360 to maintain and enhance backend systems, developing solutions for large social graphs at Sberbank-Technology, and designing distributed systems for analyzing public data at Inforion. Sergey holds a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Systems Analysis and Technologies from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
