Pekka Enberg

Pekka Enberg has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Pekka is currently the Founder & CTO of ChiselStrike Inc., starting in September 2021. Prior to this, they worked at ScyllaDB from August 2013 to September 2021 as a Principal Software Engineer. In this role, they contributed to the development of ScyllaDB, a distributed NoSQL database compatible with Apache Cassandra, by implementing the CQL server front-end and CQL secondary indices over materialized views.

Before joining ScyllaDB, Pekka worked at Reaktor from August 2009 to August 2013 as a Software Developer. Pekka worked on various client projects as a software consultant, including implementing a high frequency trading platform and a build and test automation information radiator for a telecommunications company.

Pekka's earlier experience includes working as a Software Engineer at Scilla Systems from July 2008 to May 2009, as a Lead Programmer at Reaktor from January 2005 to June 2008, as a Software Developer at Accenture from May 2004 to August 2004, and as a Software Developer at Accenture Technology Solutions from August 2002 to February 2004. At these companies, they gained experience in project development, release engineering, performance optimization, and maintaining systems.

Pekka started their career as a Programmer at Gui Systems from June 2000 to December 2001. In this role, they maintained a credit management system and implemented integrations for clients.

Throughout their career, Pekka has demonstrated a strong technical background and expertise in software development, contributing to the success and growth of the companies they have worked for.

Pekka Enberg has a strong educational background in the field of Computer Science. Pekka obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree from the University of Helsinki, where they studied from 2001 to 2013. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from the same university, completing their studies between 2013 and 2016.

In addition to their formal education, Pekka Enberg has also acquired several certifications to enhance their knowledge and skills. Pekka obtained the certification in "Hardware Description Languages for FPGA Design" from Coursera in September 2020. Prior to that, they completed "The Introduction to Quantum Computing" course on Coursera in December 2019. In June 2018, they obtained the certification for "Elements of AI" from the University of Helsinki and Reaktor. Pekka also holds a certificate in "Computational Investing, Part I" from Coursera Course Certificates, which they earned in October 2016. Pekka further expanded their knowledge in functional programming by completing the course "FP101x, Introduction to Functional Programming" on edX in January 2015. Lastly, they acquired expertise in machine learning through a Coursera course in May 2014.
